This bill allows Minnesota to mark drivers' licenses and state identification cards with a special indicator for individuals who hold a lifetime permit to hunt from a stationary motor vehicle due to permanent physical disabilities. The permit itself is issued by the Department of Natural Resources to people who cannot walk without mechanical support or who require supplemental oxygen, and it is valid for the applicant's lifetime if they remain eligible. The Department of Public Safety would receive electronic notifications when these lifetime permits are issued or revoked, enabling them to add or remove the special graphic or text on affected identification documents. This change would take effect on June 1, 2027, and applies only to the identification card marking system, not to the hunting permit itself.
