Gitchi-Gami State Trail funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

This bill authorizes the issuance of up to $4.5 million in state bonds to fund construction and design work on three segments of the Gitchi Gami State Trail in Minnesota. The funds will be used to build multiuse paved trails connecting specific locations in Lutsen and between Flood Bay State Wayside and Stewart River, including a bridge over coastal wetlands and trailhead improvements. The commissioner of natural resources will oversee the development work, while the commissioner of management and budget is responsible for selling the bonds to generate the necessary financing. This legislation takes effect immediately upon final enactment.
