Forest Lake authorized to impose a local sales tax.

This bill authorizes the city of Forest Lake to collect a local sales tax of up to 0.5% with voter approval. The tax revenue would fund the construction of a new public works facility costing up to $50 million, including associated bonding costs. The city could issue bonds to finance the project, and the tax would expire after 20 years or once the project is fully funded, whichever comes first.
