This bill appropriates $24 million from the general fund to school districts in Minnesota for purchasing and installing smart-monitored automated external defibrillator (AED) cabinets on school grounds. School districts receiving funds must install the AEDs in publicly accessible locations (outdoor or always-open indoor spaces), maintain them for five years without additional public funding, and comply with Minnesota's AED regulations. The Minnesota State High School League will distribute grants, and must submit a report by October 2026 detailing grant allocations and AED installations to legislative education committees.
