Health: licensing; honorary retiree license; provide for. Amends 1978 PA 368 (MCL 333.1101 - 333.25211) by adding sec. 16183.
This bill creates a new type of license called an emeritus license for retired health professionals in Michigan. To qualify, a retired individual must apply, prove their previous license was in good standing, and agree not to practice their profession again. If approved, the license allows the person to keep their professional title but does not permit them to work or provide medical services. The law also requires that anyone using this license must include the word "emeritus" next to their professional title in all written or printed materials.
