Health: screening; PFAS levels in qualified minors; provide for certain screening and research. Amends sec. 9601 of 1978 PA 368 (MCL 333.9601) & adds sec. 5126.

This bill requires primary care physicians to inform parents and guardians that children aged 10 and younger living in specific well-water areas of Kent and Ottawa counties can be tested for PFAS chemicals starting in January 2025. If consent is given, the physician must order a full blood panel test processed at designated hospital laboratories and analyzed by the state testing laboratory. The legislation also authorizes the use of collected data for a research pilot study, mandates the creation of educational materials about PFAS, and directs the state to establish rules defining what constitutes an elevated PFAS level for these minors.
