This bill requires health plans and nonprofit dental corporations in Michigan to offer payment methods that give dentists the full amount owed without charging them a fee to access those funds. The rule applies to all dental benefits policies delivered, issued, or renewed in the state after the law takes effect, but it does not cover fees charged by the dentist's own bank. Dentists can choose to opt out of these new payment methods, and that choice will stay in place until they decide to switch back or sign a new contract.
