Criminal procedure: expunction; expungement of domestic violence convictions; prohibit. Amends sec. 1c of 1965 PA 213 (MCL 780.621c).

This bill prohibits individuals with prior domestic violence convictions from applying to have any subsequent domestic violence convictions expunged. It also bars people convicted of serious felonies, specific violent crimes, and certain traffic offenses from seeking to clear their criminal records. A key provision prevents the expungement of operating while intoxicated convictions if the applicant has a history of domestic violence misdemeanors. Additionally, the bill requires courts to consider whether an applicant has completed rehabilitative programs before granting relief for a first-time OUI offense.
