This bill grants immunity from liability and provides financial reimbursement for legal costs to state and local government officials, employees, and contractors who enforce specific Michigan laws related to human trafficking and child exploitation. It allows these individuals to be protected from lawsuits and have their legal fees covered when acting within the scope of their duties to enforce those particular statutes. However, this protection does not apply if a court or jury finds that the official acted in bad faith, with conscious indifference, or recklessly. Additionally, any legal dispute arising from this bill must be appealed directly to the state's supreme court.
