An Act relative to LGBTQ+ health disparities

SD 2470 requires Massachusetts state health departments, public schools, and higher education agencies to collect voluntary self-identified data on sexual orientation and gender identity from individuals aged 16+ receiving services. This data collection aims to identify health disparities affecting LGBTQ+ communities by aggregating de-identified information for annual reporting. Agencies must follow strict confidentiality rules, using the data only for demographic analysis, service improvements, and policy decisions - not for individual identification. The Office of Health Equity will compile these reports into annual legislative summaries to guide future health equity efforts.
