An Act relative to club sports coaching staff

HD 85 establishes a special commission to study coaching staff quality at club sports facilities serving children and young adults. The commission, composed of legislative members, education officials, and 7 governor-appointed experts (including child development and sports facility representatives), will examine current hiring, coach training, complaint systems, and potential statewide licensing. It will investigate best practices for ensuring coach safety, accountability, and transparency, and report findings with draft legislation by June 2026. This bill does not enact new rules but sets up a study to inform future policy changes affecting club sports facilities and youth participants.
