An Act relative to the sale of wines and malt beverages by food stores

This bill creates a new license allowing eligible food stores to sell wine and malt beverages for off-premises consumption. To qualify, stores must sell at least three of four staple food categories (produce, meat, dairy, or grains), dedicate no more than 35% of floor space to alcohol displays (max 10,000 sq ft), and implement age verification policies. Sales hours follow regular store hours, with local authorities able to restrict sales between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. or require alcohol purchases to include non-alcoholic goods. The law applies directly to grocery-style stores meeting these specific criteria.
