An Act warning consumers of the health risks of gas stoves

This bill requires gas stoves sold in Massachusetts after January 1, 2026, to include a clear label warning consumers about health risks from pollutants like nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide. The label must be visible on the stove and state that these pollutants may worsen respiratory illnesses or contribute to asthma, especially in children. Retailers must also display a prominent sign with the same warning near gas stoves in stores, and online sellers must post it on product pages. Violations would be enforced as deceptive business practices under Massachusetts consumer protection law.
