An Act relative to educational requirements for class 2 motor vehicle licenses

This bill requires individuals seeking or renewing a Class 2 license to complete specific educational training about used car industry laws and regulations. To qualify, applicants must attend eight hours of training provided by an organization certified by the Massachusetts Independent Automobile Dealers Association, pass a standardized test, and receive a certificate. The bill also mandates that license holders complete four hours of continuing education every two years to maintain their license. Municipal licensing authorities will not issue or renew these licenses unless the required education certificates are presented, with these rules taking effect on July 1, 2027.
