An Act relative to the town charter of the town of Plainville

This bill (HD 4972) amends Plainville's town charter to allow the select board to appoint up to two associate or alternate members to most town boards (excluding the school committee and housing authority). These associates serve one-year terms and can fully participate in all board discussions and decisions. The bill also permits the board chair to temporarily assign an associate to replace a regular member who is absent, unable to serve, or has a conflict of interest. This change provides greater flexibility for town boards to maintain operations during member vacancies or conflicts.
