An Act relative to Commonwealth building projects

This bill updates the rules for how the Commonwealth of Massachusetts oversees its own construction projects. It requires the state commissioner to supervise any building project costing more than $1 million that involves structural or mechanical work. For projects under $10 million involving such work, the commissioner can choose to let the responsible state agency manage the project if they believe the agency is capable. Projects under $1 million or those without structural or mechanical components will continue to be managed by the state agencies themselves.
