An Act relative to the alignment of the University of Massachusetts police

This bill modifies state retirement laws to include University of Massachusetts police officers in the state retirement system. It removes these officers from a separate classification and grants them a special retirement incentive that allows them to retire early with up to five years of additional creditable service and age. The incentive is available only to officers who were appointed under a specific previous law and who choose to retire within twelve months of the bill taking effect.
