An Act to facilitate labor peace among the cannabis workforce

This bill requires cannabis businesses in Massachusetts to sign a "labor peace agreement" with any union representing their employees. Under this agreement, the business agrees not to interfere with workers' right to form a union, while the union agrees not to engage in picketing, strikes, or boycotts against the business. To comply, applicants and license holders must submit an attestation confirming they have signed such an agreement or stating they will not interfere with union activities. If a business fails to provide this attestation or violates the terms of the agreement, the state may deny their initial license, refuse to renew it, or revoke an existing license. The law defines a "labor organization" as a group that has existed for at least three years, has filed financial reports, and meets other specific criteria related to collective bargaining.
