An Act ensuring support groups are part of the pathway of care following the annual mental health wellness exam
This bill requires Massachusetts health officials to create and distribute a list of mental health treatment resources to individuals during their annual wellness exams. If a patient receives a diagnosis during this exam, the provider must refer them to a treatment option, such as an evidence-based support group, that is available within six weeks. Additionally, the state will establish a network of these support groups to improve access to care and will annually report data on referral success to state committees.
