S 2226 Massachusetts Senate · 193rd Legislature (2023-2024)

An Act relative to human trafficking awareness

This bill requires the state's office of planning and programming to place warning signs in all public state highways, mass transit facilities, and vehicles. The signs must inform the public that forced labor is a crime and provide the contact number for the National Human Trafficking Hotline. These notices will be available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and other languages as recommended, with English covering at least half of the sign. The office must also review the languages used on these signs at least once every year.
