An Act relative to towing protections

This bill strengthens consumer protections for vehicle owners in Massachusetts by mandating that towing companies and storage facilities accept credit and debit card payments in addition to cash. It also requires facilities to allow owners to remove personal belongings from a towed vehicle even if they cannot immediately pay the full fee. Furthermore, the legislation updates signage requirements to explicitly display current removal and storage fees and ensures that receipts provided upon release of a vehicle are itemized with those specific charges.
