S 2010 Massachusetts Senate · 193rd Legislature (2023-2024)

An Act authorizing the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance to convey certain land in the town of Brookfield

This bill authorizes the Commissioner of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance to swap a 35,000-square-foot parcel of land in Brookfield with a larger 38,000-square-foot parcel owned by Mary Faugno-Wiles. The current land would be transferred to Faugno-Wiles as replacement property, while she would convey the new parcel to the state for use by the Department of State Police. The transaction requires independent appraisals of both properties, which must be reviewed and approved by the Inspector General before the exchange occurs. Faugno-Wiles would pay the difference in market value between the two parcels, if any, and is responsible for all costs associated with the land swap.
