An Act protecting the employment benefits of Civil Air Patrol and Coast Guard Auxiliary members

This bill requires employers in Massachusetts with more than 15 employees to grant up to ten days of unpaid leave annually to workers who serve as members of the Civil Air Patrol or Coast Guard Auxiliary. The leave is specifically for participating in emergency missions authorized by federal or state agencies, provided the employee submits proof of membership and participation. Employers cannot force these workers to use other types of leave, nor can they punish them with reduced pay, seniority, or benefits for taking this time off. If an employee is fired or disciplined for following the bill's rules, they must be immediately reinstated with full compensation for lost time.
