An Act relative to the availability of court interpreters

This bill allows non-English speakers in Massachusetts courts to bring their own interpreter if a qualified or certified one is not available and a delay occurs. The proposed interpreter must be approved by the judge and must still follow the same rules as official court interpreters regarding qualifications and conduct. This change aims to prevent delays in legal proceedings by permitting parties to provide their own language assistance when the court cannot supply one immediately.
