An Act relative to higher education incentives for municipal employees

This bill amends Massachusetts law to allow municipal employees to access tuition reimbursement programs currently available to state employees. Under the new provision, city and town workers would become eligible for these benefits if they work at public universities listed in the state's higher education system. The legislation requires that applicants still meet all standard eligibility criteria used for state employees, such as service duration and enrollment status. Additionally, the Board of Higher Education would be authorized to create guidelines for administering these benefits.
