An Act relative to electronic security for the Commonwealth

This bill requires the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to enforce federal restrictions on purchasing electronic and cybersecurity equipment from China for specific government contracts and grant-funded projects. It mandates that contracts over $500,000 involving cybersecurity components must comply with federal export regulations and prohibits the use of Chinese-made equipment by entities receiving state funding. Additionally, the legislation directs the Chief Procurement Officer to ban procurement of equipment listed under federal cybersecurity laws and requires any state-funded entity currently using Chinese electronics to submit a replacement plan within 90 days and complete the transition within 180 days.
