An Act relative to industrial wastewater discharge of dental facilities

This bill requires dental facilities in Massachusetts that discharge industrial wastewater into septic systems to obtain verification from local health authorities confirming their septic tanks do not need repair or replacement. The verification must be secured within 120 days of the law taking effect and renewed every five years, but only applies to clinics located in Zone II areas of public water supplies. Additionally, the bill exempts these facilities from specific state wastewater regulations that currently apply to other industries.
