An Order to amend House Rule 85A

This bill amends House rules to require an annual independent financial audit of the House of Representatives' accounts starting in fiscal year 2025. The process involves the House Business Manager requesting a recommendation for an auditing firm from the state auditor, who must suggest a qualified firm within 30 days using an existing statewide procurement list. If the state auditor fails to make a recommendation in time, the House Business Manager is authorized to select a firm directly from that same list. Once the audit is completed, a copy must be filed with the Clerk of the House and the state auditor and made available on the General Court's website.
