An Act authorizing the town of Westford to release agricultural preservation restrictions over land owned by Westford Gateway, LLC.

This bill authorizes the town of Westford to remove agricultural preservation restrictions on specific land parcels owned by Westford Gateway, LLC, which are needed for a road rehabilitation project by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. To compensate for this release, the state Department of Transportation must pay the town an amount equal to at least 110 percent of the land's fair market value, which the town must then use to buy new conservation land within three years. The state will also cover all costs related to the legal and technical work required to finalize the land transfer, while the remaining agricultural restrictions on the rest of the town's land will stay in effect.
