An Act providing the next of kin of a police officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty with the flags of the Commonwealth and the United States
This bill would provide the next of kin of Massachusetts police officers, firefighters, and other peace officers killed or injured in the line of duty with both a U.S. flag and a state flag. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts would cover the cost of these flags during the memorial service for the fallen officer. This change applies to sworn officers from city and town departments, the state police, and any other peace officers within the state.
