An Act relative to disability retirees and restoration to service

This bill modifies Massachusetts state law to allow disability retirees to return to active service in positions other than their original job. It updates the rules so that retirees can be evaluated for specific roles within any retirement system, not just the one they originally retired from. If a retiree successfully passes an evaluation for a new position, they can resume work and their disability pension will stop. Additionally, the bill clarifies that if a retiree moves to a different retirement system and later retires again due to the same injury, the original system will receive a portion of the new disability pension.
