An Act relative to culturally competent and effective health care
This bill requires medical licensing boards and health data centers in Massachusetts to collect and publish detailed information about the race, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual identity of physicians, medical fellows, interns, and residents. Health care facilities licensed under state law must submit this data quarterly, including details on practice duration, leadership roles, education debt, and employment status. The collected information will be aggregated and made available to the public on the Board of Registration in Medicine website within 30 days after each fiscal quarter ends. Additionally, the Center for Health Information and Analysis must report these findings to state legislative and health officials by January 30th of each year to help assess the impact of workforce diversity on health outcomes.
