An Act to let kids play

This bill prohibits retail department stores with more than 500 employees from organizing their displays of toys and childcare items into sections based on gender. The law defines "toys" as products for children under 14 and "childcare articles" as items designed for sleep, relaxation, feeding, or teething. Stores that violate this rule after receiving written notice from the attorney general could face a civil penalty of up to $1,000. The changes would take effect 180 days after the bill is passed.
