An Act improving accessibility in the creative economy

This bill establishes a new grant program called the Accessibility in the Creative Economy (ACE) to help organizations in Massachusetts improve accessibility for people with disabilities within the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences sectors. The program will be managed by the Office on Disability, which will receive funding from a dedicated trust fund and accept donations from various sources to support these efforts. A specific board, composed largely of individuals with disabilities and advocates, will oversee the selection of grants for projects such as physical modifications, communication devices, and training services. Eligible recipients include for-profit, non-profit, and public organizations, with a preference given to applicants based in the Commonwealth.
