Arts Incubator Workgroup - Established

This bill establishes the Arts Incubator Workgroup in Maryland to study how arts and cultural institutions can better support local artists. The group will be composed of artists, arts educators, representatives from various types of arts venues, local arts council members, and public supporters, all appointed by state officials. The Workgroup is tasked with researching effective support strategies and must submit a preliminary report by January 1, 2025, and a final report by October 1, 2025, to the Governor and the General Assembly. Members of the group will not receive payment but will be reimbursed for necessary travel expenses. The legislation is temporary and will automatically expire on December 31, 2025, unless renewed.
