An Act To Improve Notifications Related To Substance-Exposed Infants
LD 156 requires health care providers to notify Maine's Department of Health and Human Services when an infant shows signs of prenatal drug exposure (including legal drugs) or has a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The department must then investigate, determine if the infant is affected by parental substance use, and develop a safe care plan with health care providers.
