This bill updates Louisiana's public records laws to clarify how agencies can charge fees for providing copies of documents. It mandates that the first twenty pages of records be free for everyone, while charging a maximum of five cents per page for additional paper copies and up to ten dollars for electronic records. State agencies must follow a uniform fee schedule set by the Commissioner of Administration, whereas local agencies can set their own reasonable rates as long as they are posted publicly.
