What changed between versions
New R.S. 17:407.29.1 allows expectant mothers to apply for Child Care Assistance Program benefits prior to birth of the child to preliminarily determine eligibility.
The Department of Education must develop a process to determine provisional eligibility and later confirm eligibility after the child is born. This process requires joint approval by the Senate and House committees on education.
The Department of Education is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations under the Administrative Procedure Act to implement the new provisional eligibility section.
Section 2 designates the Act as the 'Working Mothers' Support Act.'
Existing references to 'board' in R.S. 17:407.30(D)(1) and 407.51(H)(1) are clarified to explicitly mean the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
