CHILDREN: Requests a study on the intersection of parental discipline, allegations of abuse, and the impact of disciplinary avoidance on juvenile delinquency since 2015

This resolution directs several state agencies and research institutions to conduct a study on how parental discipline, abuse allegations, and the avoidance of discipline relate to juvenile delinquency in Louisiana since 2015. The study will specifically examine data on arrests of parents for cruelty to juveniles, cases where parental discipline stopped due to a child's threat to report abuse, and whether such threats hindered early behavioral interventions for delinquent youth. The findings are required to be submitted to the Louisiana House of Representatives by May 2027 to help inform future policy discussions.
