LOCAL OFFICIALS: Requests the legislative auditor to conduct a study of compensation authorized for parish assessors and clerks of court (OR NO IMPACT See Note)

The study will examine how their salaries are calculated, compare their compensation to the value of taxable property in their areas, and gather input from relevant professional associations. Based on these findings, the auditor will provide recommendations to lawmakers on how to make pay levels fairer between these two groups and clarify the complex laws governing their compensation. The final report is scheduled to be delivered to the legislature before the 2027 session begins.
