MENTAL HEALTH: Provides relative to use of emergency certificates for formal voluntary admission. (8/1/25) (EN NO IMPACT See Note)

The mandatory statement on emergency admission certificates was changed to reflect that a patient is willing to seek voluntary admission upon arrival at the treating facility, rather than being unwilling or unable to do so.

A new provision was added to the bill text clarifying that if the certificate states the person is willing to seek voluntary admission upon arrival, they must be assessed under specific statutes at the time of the initial psychiatric evaluation.
