EDUCATION: Provides relative to the effectiveness of laws requiring reports to be submitted annually to the legislature by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the state Department of Education and provides relative to certain commissions and advisory councils

Added an automatic sunset provision requiring the legislature to renew any law mandating annual reports from the State Board or Department of Education within two years of the report's first publication, or the requirement ceases to be effective.

Reduced the required number of annual meetings for the Early Childhood Care and Education Commission from four to two.

Removed specific duties and evaluation requirements previously assigned to the Advisory Council on Early Childhood Care and Education, which is now abolished.

Repealed the Louisiana Environmental Education Commission and transferred its duties to the Department of Education.

Abolished the Advisory Council on Student Behavior and Discipline.

Set the effective date for the reporting sunset provision to August 1, 2026, while other sections of the bill take effect on August 1, 2025.
