RETIREMENT/STATE EMPS: Provides relative to the reemployment of retired bus drivers of the Louisiana School Employees' Retirement System (EN INCREASE APV)

This bill allows retired bus drivers from the Louisiana School Employees' Retirement System to return to active work if their school district faces a shortage of qualified drivers. Under the new rules, these reemployed drivers must be treated like full-time active employees regarding rules and procedures, but they will not earn additional retirement service credit or benefits during their return to work. Employers must notify the retirement system within ten days of hiring a retired driver and submit annual reports on their earnings, while also paying any extra actuarial costs associated with the reemployment. If a driver leaves the reemployed position, they can request a refund of their employee contributions without interest, though the system keeps the employer contributions and any interest earned.
