SNAP/FOOD STAMPS: Requires the office of juvenile justice to report if a juvenile is placed in custody for the adjustment of SNAP benefits (EN SEE FISC NOTE)

This bill requires the Office of Juvenile Justice to notify the Department of Children and Family Services when a juvenile under twenty-two is placed in custody for at least nine months. The purpose of this notification is to help the department identify changes in household circumstances so it can adjust Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits accordingly. The law specifies that the office must provide this information forty-five days before the juvenile's release, or within twenty-four hours if the release date changes due to a court order. Once notified, the department will update the SNAP benefits for the juvenile's household to reflect the new situation.
