AN ACT relating to appellate judges. Amend KRS 118A.110 to define "retention election" for appellate judges; create a new section of KRS Chapter 118A to create an election process for retaining appointed appellate judges, following the ratification of a constitutional amendment to provide for appointments of appellate judges; amend KRS 118A.020, 118A.030, 118A.060, 118A.100, and 118A.140 to conform; repeal, reenact, and amend KRS 21A.020 to set staggered terms for appellate judges; EFFECTIVE contingently on January 1, 2020.
