HF 574 adds "established places of religious worship" to the list of approved destinations for minors with a special restricted driver's license. It requires parents or guardians to complete a written consent form listing the religious location before a minor can drive unsupervised there for worship or volunteer programs, similar to existing rules for employment or farm work. The minor must carry the form in the vehicle and present it to officers upon request, while still being limited to 25-mile trips between approved locations. This bill modifies existing restrictions for 14- to 18-year-old drivers in Iowa who hold a special minor’s restricted license.
