Alcohol-Prohibited Activities for Employees, Commission Members, and Director (5479XD) - Revenue, Department of

This bill restricts alcohol-related business interests for Iowa's alcoholic beverage commission members, the revenue director, and department employees. It prohibits commission members from holding more than two alcohol business interests (except as institutional investors) and bans them from using their position to influence political views. The director and employees cannot own alcohol businesses they regulate, license, or enforce rules against, nor can they favor businesses with which they have personal ties. Violations may result in disciplinary action up to termination, though personal alcohol possession remains permitted.
