DOWNSTATE TRANSPORT ASSIST

Creates the Greater Illinois Transportation Infrastructure Act and amends the State Finance Act and the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act. Creates the Greater Illinois Transportation Infrastructure Fund as a special fund in the State treasury. Provides for the transfer from the General Revenue Fund to the Greater Illinois Transportation Infrastructure Fund an amount equal to certain tax revenues collected in the Greater Illinois Region on sales of motor fuel by a retailer. Sets forth procedures for distributions to municipalities, counties, and road districts from the Greater Illinois Transportation Infrastructure Fund. Amends the Retailers’ Occupation Tax Act to make corresponding changes. Effective immediately.
