What changed between versions
Increased mandatory minimum jail sentences for first violations of temporary restraining orders from 48 hours to 5 days, and raised fines from $150 to $300 minimum.
Increased mandatory minimum jail sentences for second and subsequent violations from 30 days to 45 days, and raised fines from $250 to $500 minimum.
Added provision that violating a temporary restraining order under the same case number as an order for protection counts as a second or subsequent violation of the order for protection.
Added provision allowing courts to waive fines if defendants cannot pay them, based on a court finding of inability to pay.
Added new sentencing categories for order for protection violations, distinguishing between domestic and non-domestic abuse scenarios with different penalties.
