AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A PERPETUAL, NON-EXCLUSIVE EASEMENT COVERING A PORTION OF STATE SUBMERGED LANDS AT MAUNALUA, HONOLULU, OAHU, FOR THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT OUTFALL AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM, AND FOR USE, REPAIR, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS CONSTRUCTED THEREON.
This concurrent resolution authorizes the Board of Land and Natural Resources to issue a perpetual, non-exclusive easement covering 1,050 square feet of state submerged lands at Maunalua, Honolulu, for the City and County of Honolulu's stormwater drainage system. The easement allows the City to use, repair, and maintain an existing stormwater outfall and drainage system located on state-owned submerged lands. This action complies with Hawaii Revised Statutes §171-53(c), which requires legislative authorization for such easements on state submerged lands. The City agreed to obtain this easement for a system already approved by the Board in 2018 to replace an outdated drainage outfall.
